Acupuncture for Women’s Health
.........................................................................
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM - which includes acupuncture and herbal remedies) seeks to restore balance and harmony to the mind, body and spirit (even before the appearance of symptoms), and has been used for the specific treatment of women’s health for millennia. Using TCM, we can improve balance and harmony to achieve and maintain your optimal health and quality of living, no matter your age or stage of life.

Our diagnostic tools and treatments include obtaining your detailed medical information, sophisticated pulse evaluation and observation of the tongue. We use the highest quality of herbs, ethically sourced and rigorously tested for purity. We will customize a treatment plan for your particular issue and will help you maintain the positive result.

Menstrual Health

The menstrual cycle reflects the inner workings and health of the body. A healthy cycle should be regular, pain free, without clots and asymptomatic. Any problem with the menstrual cycle is generally due to blockages or weakness in the body, which can be successfully treated with acupuncture, herbal medicine and some nutrition and lifestyle changes. Since this is a monthly issue, we will work with you to resolve the root cause of your symptoms so they do not recur.

Premenstrual Tension

Physical and emotional changes can begin up to 10 days before menstruation, and may include fatigue, irritability, digestive issues, bloating, cramping, low back pain, acne, breast tenderness, and a heightened sense of emotional upset or sensitivity. TCM in its various forms can relieve some or all of these symptoms.

Endometriosis

This is a problem where the layer of tissue that normally covers the inside of the uterus grows outside of it, most often on the ovaries, fallopian tubes and tissue around the uterus and ovaries. Symptoms include heavy bleeding, backaches, severe cramping, abdominal swelling, pelvic pain (during menstruation and sexual intercourse) and infertility. Research (see HealthCMI.com) shows that acupuncture reduces pain levels and relapse rates more significantly than medication by promoting blood circulation, transforming and dissolving blood stasis, and regulating the functions of the liver, spleen, and kidneys.

Perimenopause and Menopause

TCM theory believes that menopause should be asymptomatic. Hot flashes, night sweats, irritability, heart palpitations, anxiety, insomnia and vaginal dryness are signs that there is an imbalance in the body. With the help of TCM, harmony can be restored naturally.

Kidney Issues/Urinary Tract Infections

There are specific bladder acupuncture points that significantly improve kidney issues, infections, bladder capacity, urgency, frequency, and a burning sensation when urinating. No matter the kind of urinary disorder, TCM can relieve the symptoms and find the right method to reduce and/or resolve the problem.
