Physiotherapy
Physiotherapists are highly trained professionals (a 4 year undergraduate degree followed by a 2 year Masters of Physical Therapy degree) and have an in-depth understanding of human movement and injury pathology. They use their extensive knowledge to:
- assess the patient
- identify the nature and cause of an injury
- treat musculoskeletal and neuromuscular complaints using an integrative approach
- promote a safe and speedy recovery to an injury-free state
- provide the tools required to prevent injuries in the future
Some interventions used by physiotherapists include:
- education
- soft tissue and manual therapy techniques
• massage
• spinal and peripheral joint mobilization and manipulation
- electro-modalities
• interferential current (IFC)
• transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS)
• therapeutic ultrasound
- Needling techniques
• dry-needling
• medical acupuncture
• IMS - intra muscular stimulation
- prescriptive exercises
• testing
• conditioning
• neurotherapeutic approaches to improve strength, range of motion and function
- management of incontinence, including pelvic floor re-education
- functional activity along with tolerance testing and training
- work and occupational re-training
• planning for return to work
- application of assistive, adaptive, supportive and protective devices and equipment
- environmental change, focusing on removing barriers to function
The physiotherapists at InterActive Sports Clinic are warm, caring individuals who are constantly updating and expanding their knowledge in an effort to ensure that their clients are getting the best possible treatments. All physiotherapy appointments are private one to one sessions, to offer the best possible care.
